Damasus, Apr. 22 (SANA) Faculty of Economics at Damascus University, in cooperation with Dar Raslan for Printing and Publishing organized on Wednesday the ‘Diverse Arab Book’ exhibition in the college lobby.
The ten-day exhibition offers a wide selection of academic, historical, literary, and children’s books, in addition to a variety of translated works, aiming at promoting a culture of reading and providing students with access to the latest scientific and knowledge based publications.
Damascus University rector, Dr. Mustafa Saem al Dahr, told SANA that organizing temporary book fairs across the faculties falls within the university’s efforts to encourage students to read, given the noticeable decline in demand for printed books in recent years.
For her part, Executive Director of Dar Raslan, Fadia Abdel Khaleq underlined the importance of continuing cultural activities within universities, describing them as a vital lever for supporting reading amid the challenges posed by the digital age.
She noted that the publishing house offers a diverse collection of titles, including works on economics, management, marketing, and public relations and many others.
A number of students touring the exhibition see that it as a valuable chance to promote reading culture and expand students’ access to educational content.
Dar Raslan for Printing and Publishing works to spread knowledge and Arab culture, and to provide diverse publications to readers both inside and outside Syria.
