Participants underscored that Kurdish woman have long been an integral part of Damascus’ social fabric, contributing to civic and humanitarian initiatives that promote stability and support vulnerable groups. They emphasized that Kurdish women’s engagement in relief efforts, humanitarian work, and the provision of psychological and social support has helped build bridges among Syria’s diverse communities and reinforce values of solidarity and shared responsibility.
Mustafa stressed that highlighting the role of Kurdish women in Damascus is an important step toward rebuilding trust among Syria’s social components. He noted that transitional justice is not limited to addressing violations, but also involves recognizing the contributions of women who have helped safeguard national cohesion, particularly those who have worked in civil and humanitarian fields beyond narrow alignments.
The symposium concluded that shedding light on the role of Kurdish women reflects Syria’s diverse and cohesive identity, affirming that national belonging remains the strongest bond uniting Syrians regardless of their cultural roots.
