Damascus, Feb. 14 (SANA) The Syrian Ministry of Awqaf (Religious Endowments) is showcasing meticulously reviewed copies of the Quran at the special edition of Damascus International Book Fair
The Ministry’s pavilion has drawn significant interest from visitors eager to explore the ministry’s standards and techniques for ensuring precise and complete editions of the holy text.

Burhan al-Afioni, a member of the ministry’s Quran review committee, said the texts undergo thorough examination before printing and distribution to safeguard the accuracy of letters, words, punctuation and diacritical marks.
He added that the Fair provides an opportunity to highlight the ministry’s efforts in quality control and to counter past misconceptions, noting that the strong turnout reflects public appreciation for the work.
The “Quran Corner” at the exhibition, he said, strengthens confidence in the scientific and religious accuracy of the printed editions and promotes sound religious awareness in line with modern cultural developments.
The book Fair, held at Damascus Fairgrounds, runs until February 16 and features more than 500 publishing houses from 35 Arab and foreign countries, alongside broad participation from Syrian public and private institutions, underscoring its role as a cultural and educational platform bringing readers and publishers together.
