Cabinet approves providing new benefits for the families of martyrs

Damascus, SANA – Cabinet approved providing new benefits for the families of martyrs, including granting a full salary to the parents of a unmarried martyr divided equally among them instead of the current 50 percent.

In its weekly session, headed by Prime Minister Imad Khamis, the Cabinet also approved granting a martyr’s unemployed wife or one of her children of her choosing a job opportunity via an contract which is automatically renewed, and if the wife is employed, one job opportunity will be granted for one of her children, and an additional job opportunity will be granted to the brothers of unmarried martyrs if there are more than one martyr in the family.

The Cabinet tasked ministries with following up on the Syrian-Iranian relations file, commercial relations, and the implementation the agreements signed between the two sides.

The Cabinet approved a bill on amending the legislative decree governing the work of the General Organization for Housing, and decided to expand the current list of imported items, particularly the raw material for industrial sector, in addition to calling for implanting a mechanism for the work of associations and their relationship to the Higher Committee for Relief and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent in a way that guarantees the delivery of aid to deserving recipients.

Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Adib Mayyaleh briefed the Cabinet on the achievements in development and productive fields during the past six months.
