Homs Governor visits families displaced from Palmyra

Homs, SANA – Homs Governor Talal al-Barazi on Tuesday visited families displaced from Palmyra who are currently staying in a temporary housing center in Baba Amro neighborhood in Homs city.

Al-Barazi toured the center and listened to the families residing in it about their conditions and needs such as providing transportation and television sets.

In a statement after the visit, the Governor said that the Relief Subcommittee in Homs is working to accommodate all displaced people, particularly those coming from Palmyra, and is providing all their basic needs including shelter, food, relief supplies, and healthcare.

The center’s supervisor Ali Aibo said that there are 26 families consisting of 140 people staying in the center, affirming that they are receiving support and food and relief aid along with medical care in cooperation with official establishments and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC).

During the visit, school bags and school supplies were distributed among the 76 children staying in the center, and a wheelchair was provided to a child with special needs.
