Sousan offers condolences over passing of Fidel Castro

Damascus, SANA – Assistant Foreign and Expatriates Minister Ayman Sousan offered condolences for the passing of Cuban leader Fidel Castro and signed the condolences record at the Cuban Ambassador’s house in Damascus on Monday.

Sousan told journalists that the passing of Fidel Castro is a loss for Cuba and humanity, adding that Syria has lost a great and loyal friend with his passing, as the late leader had always supported Syria’s causes.

For his part, Cuban Ambassador Rogerio Manuel Santana Rodriguez said that Fidel Castro was a defender of freedom, humanity, sovereignty, and independence, adding that Syria’s victory over terrorism will immortalize and pay tribute to the Cuban leader who always wished that Syria will emerge victorious.
