Jordanian Syrian Land Transport Co. resumes work after 2 year pause

Tartous, SANA-The first convoy of trucks run by the Jordanian Syrian Land Transport Co. set off on Thursday from Tartous port loaded with goods and food substances to be distributed to the accredited centers and warehouses in all Syrian provinces.

In a statement to SANA, Transport Minister Ali Hammoud affirmed that this achievement comes from the great importance of the road transport sector and shipment of goods, affirming that the ministry has paid great attention to the activation of the company’s fleet of 56 trucks after it stopped working for nearly two years due to technical and administrative reasons.jordanian-syrian-land-transport-co-transport-sector-1

He pointed out to the increasing need for transporting goods, relief, rational and agricultural substances between Syrian ports and the rest of the provinces.

He also called for adopting all measures to provide facilitations and ease the burden of entry, unloading and loading fees, calling for cooperation with the authorities concerned to secure fuel and the necessary reforms for the resuming work in a way that supports the public sector.
