Information Minister: Syrian media succeeded to face terrorist war

Damascus, SANA – Minister of Information Ramez Turjman stressed that Syrian media, despite all criticism and accusations, has been able to stand against foreign-backed media empires led by the Zionist and American forces through exposing distorted facts and false information about events in Syria.

Meeting participants in the specialized media course organized by the Revolutionary Youth Union at al-Shabab Sport city in Damascus, he said that the Syrian youths are aware of the media’s role in confronting the terrorist war launched against their country, hailing their capabilities and enthusiasm to be influential and effective members.

The minister added that rebuilding Syria would be the most difficult mission and the future generations hold the responsibility for fulfilling it.
He said all the youths can have the opportunity to show their competences and skills through electronic media which has been one of the up-to-date tools of the media war targeting Syria.

The participants called for giving youths the chance to train in national media institutions and launching programs to encourage and improve those who are interested in media.

In a statement to journalists, Turjman underlined the need to upgrade the performance of the Syrian media institutions in order to confront the ongoing terrorist war on the country through holding training courses to develop journalistic skills and to produce well-qualified journalists.

The Central Office of Information and Research at the Union at the Revolution Youth Union organized a specialized media course starting on October 8th. 50 participants took part in the course which included workshops on print journalism, electronic media , TV programming and broadcasting, photo journalism and short film.
