Damascus, SANA- On the 43rd anniversary of Tishreen Liberation War, Damascus Youth Voluntary Team in cooperation with Damascus Governorate and General Sports Federation held on Friday a marathon rally under the title “ I love Damascus” with the participation of more than two thousand persons from different ages.
The participants in the marathon affirmed that Syria will achieve victory over terrorism, adding that the Syrians adhere to the option of defending their homeland
In a statement to SANA, Damascus governor Dr. Bishr al-Sabban said that Syria which faces a terrorist war will make history once due to the determination of the Syrian Arab Army, adding all the enemies’ schemes designed to undermine the sovereignty of Syria and the unity of its people will be foiled.
In turn, Organizer of the event and the Supervisor of Damascus Youth Voluntary Team Hasan Mousa said that this event coincides with the 43rd anniversary of October Liberation War and the opening of the “I Love Damascus” Edifice at Omayyad Square after marathon, adding that the event will be the beginning for launching a variety of events for Damascus Youth Voluntary Team.
The event includes artistic activities and prize draw for participants in the marathon.
