Mikdad, Ansari discuss enhancing cooperation between Syria and Iran

Damascus, SANA- Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Dr. Fayssal Mikdad resumed on Tuesday his discussions with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansari and the accompanying delegation.

The two sides discussed enhancing communication between the two countries through the establishment of a joint political committee that meets periodically in Damascus and Tehran.

During the meeting, Mikdad affirmed the importance of the strategic relation that connects Syria and Iran in the face of the Israeli-US attacks and their terrorist tools, hailing the role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in supporting Syria politically and economically during this war waged on the country.

In turn, Ansari stressed the necessity of continuing coordination and consultation between the two countries during this crucial situation Syria and countries of the region are passing through, adding that Iran will continue supporting Syria in all fields.
