Damascus, SANA – The Directorate-General for Antiquities and Museums (DGAM) has launched a project to document the ancient monuments of Old Damascus through using a drone.
In a statement to SANA, Dr. Humam Saad, an archeologist and one of the project’s supervisors, said the project aims at documenting the historical buildings in Damascus city through using advanced techniques to contribute to providing significant scientific documents on the city.
He clarified that the documentation will use three-dimensional technology to provide scientific documents that would help in understanding the historical development of Damascus city and contribute to creating a detailed map of all its architectural details.
