17th plane of WFP aid air bridge arrives in Qamishli carrying 39 tons of food supplies

Hasaka, SANA – A 17th aircraft carrying humanitarian aid provided by the World Food Program (WFP) arrived at Qamishli Airport in the northeastern Hasaka province on Thursday.

Head of the WFP office in Qamishli Afraa Nouh said the plane was loaded with 39 tons of food supplies, noting that the total amount of aid that reached Qamishli since the humanitarian aid air bridge was opened on July 9th is 645 tons, including 12,790 food packages.

The first stage of the air bridge includes the delivery of a total of 14,790 food packages via 25 planes, which will be completed in the coming days, according to Afraa.

She pointed out that the second stage of the aid air bridge will begin next month to deliver 15,000 food packages.
