Art exhibition for school students opened at Khan Asaad Basha in Damascus

Damascus, SANA – An art exhibition titled “paper and color” showcasing works by school students was opened at the historic Khan Asaad Basha in the Old City in Damascus on Sunday.

The exhibition, which is organized by the Education Ministry, will remain open until May 26th, and features assorted paintings, drawings, sculptures, and handicrafts projects for students from the art centers of schools in Damascus, Damascus Countryside, and Quneitra provinces, including pieces made from recycled materials.

Attending the opening, Education Minister Hazwan al-Waz said the goal of such exhibitions is to spread the culture of art and develop students’ creativity and their artistic and aesthetic sensibilities.

He added that by pursuing their studies and partaking in artistic activities in spite of terrorism, Syria’s children are sending a message to the world saying that Syria will remain a beacon of knowledge and science.
