Havana, SANA –General Secretary of the Organization of Solidarity with the People of Asia, Africa and Latin America (OSPAAAL), Lourdes Cervantes, affirmed the organization’s denunciation of the Zionist-imperialist war targeting Syria, the economic siege and heinous crimes committed against its people.
In a statement during a solidarity gathering held by the OSPAAAL, in coordination with the Syrian Embassy in Cuba, the organization’s General Secretary stressed support to the Syrian people in their war against terrorism to defend their homeland’s sovereignty and independency.
Cervantes considered that the funds and support provided by the US, NATO and some Arab and regional states have prolonged the war in Syria, calling for halting all terrorist acts and crimes against the Syrian people.
She urged all free peoples in the world to stand by Syria in its war on terrorism, extremism and takfiri mentality, stressing that Syria will achieve victory and only Syrian people will determine the future of their country.
Later on, the Cuban journalist Miguel Fernandez, who worked as Latin American News Agency correspondent in Syria for a year, presented a film depicting terrorists’ crimes against the Syrians.
In turn, Head of the Syrian Diplomatic Mission, Loai al-Aoja, presented a political review on Syria’s history and civilization, giving a detailed explanation of the crisis since the very beginning and motives behind targeting its sovereignty and unity.
A photo exhibition was organized on the sideline of the event. The photos and paintings showed heinous terrorist acts and destruction inflicted to the infrastructure.
