Talks with Cuban Ambassador to supply Syria with necessary medicines

Damascus, SANA – Health Minister Nizar Yazigi discussed with Cuban Ambassador in Damascus Rogerio Manuel Santana Rodriguez the prospects of developing health cooperation between the two countries, mainly in helping secure necessary medicines that are in short supply in Syria due to the terrorism war and the Western economic blockade.

Minister Yazigi stressed the need for setting up feasible mechanisms for importing necessary medicines and vaccines from Cuba to meet needs in Syria in accordance with the agreement signed between the two countries.

The agreement was signed last December along with a memo of understanding that will see importing vaccines and cancer drugs and establishing factories for producing biological drugs.

The Minister highlighted the importance of boosting joint cooperation and benefitting from Cuba’s medical and scientific centers.
