Moscow, SANA- Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov said that the Syrian-Syrian talks in Geneva might begin on Jan 27-28 and not on Jan 25, pointing out that the postponement of talks is related to not forming the opposition delegation.
“We understand that United Nations Special Envoy to Syria Staffan de Mistura is discussing the possibility of launching the talks not on the 25th of this month but on Jan 27th or 28th,”RT website quoted Gatilov as saying.
He added that the final decision about this “has not been taken till now”.
Gatilov added that de Mistura is sending invitations for the Syrian delegation and representatives of the Syrian opposition, that’s why the issue of holding talks will take time.
Geneva talks will be held based on the UN Security Council Resolution no.2254 which was adopted unanimously on the 18th of last December which calls for launching a political process to solve the crisis in Syria by the Syrians themselves.
