Beirut, SANA-Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah held Israel responsible for the assassination of Martyr Samir al-Kuntar, affirming that “the resistance will respond to assassinating any member of Hezbollah at any place or time.”
“Martyr al-Kuntar was a leader in the resistance who has been killed by Israel, and it is our right to respond to the assassination process in a suitable way,” Nasrallah said in a TV speech Monday following the assassination act.
Samir Kuntar, the longest serving Arab prisoner in Israeli jails, was killed in a rocket attack in Jaramana city in Damascus Countryside late on Saturday.
“Undoubtedly, we hold the Zionist enemy responsible for assassinating brother al-Kuntar as we have a decisive outcome that the Israeli enemy is the one who perpetrated the assassination act through a military process,” Sheikh Nasrallah said.
He added the assassination has been perpetrated through Israeli warplanes via accurate missiles that hit a residential building in Jaramana in Damascus countryside which claimed the lives of al-Kuntar, other resistant men and a number of Syrian civilians.
Nasrallah offered condolences to families of the martyrs, hoping quick recovery for the wounded.
