Russian Air Force destroys 472 terrorist positions, 1,000 oil tankers used by ISIS

Moscow, SANA The Russian Defense Ministry affirmed that 472 terrorists’ positions were destroyed in the countryside of Aleppo, Damascus, Idleb, Lattakia, Hama, Homs, Raqqa, and Deir Ezzor provinces during the last two days.

Aircrafts of the Russian aviation group in Syria have made 141 sorties over the past two days and delivered airstrikes on 472 terrorist facilities in the country, spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry Igor Konashenkov said on Monday.

On September 30th , Russian aircrafts started targeting the terrorist organizations in Syria in implementation the two countries agreement in facing the international terrorism and eliminating the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS)terrorist organization.

According to Konashenkov, over the past two days the Russian aviation group continued active additional reconnaissance of targets and delivering airstrikes on separate facilities of terrorist groups operating in Syria.

He pointed out that all the Russian aircrafts returned safe to Hmaimim Airbase in Lattakia countryside after implementing their fighting missions.

Since last Tuesday the Russian air force intensified airstrikes against the terrorist organizations’ sites in Syria in implementation of President Vladimir Putin’s orders after confirming terrorists involvement in detonating the Russian civil airliner over Sinai, Egypt on November 5th.

Russian Air Force destroys 1,000 oil tankers used by ISIS in 5 days

Meanwhile, a military source told SANA that the Russian Air Force, in cooperation with Syrian Air Force, carried out a series of airstrikes in Syria which resulted in destroying 1,000 oil tanker trucks used by ISIS to smuggle oil during the last five days.

The source explained that the airstrikes resulted in destroying 80 such oil tankers in the area surrounding al-Raqqa city, in addition to destroying large tanks full with oil and an oil refinery south of Raqqa and south of Deir Ezzor city.

The airstrikes also inflicted heavy losses on terrorists in Saraqib and Qalaat al-Madiq in the countryside of Idleb and Hama provinces, the source added.
