Damascus, SANA – The Syria Tech expo for IT and communications opened on Saturday evening at Dama Rose Hotel in Damascus, organized by Mosaic Group for Expos and Conferences.
28 local IT and communication companies, scientific establishment, and educational establishments are participating in the three-day expo.
Attending the opening ceremony, Communications and Technology Minister Mohammad Ghazi al-Jalali said this event shows that Syrians are still capable of creative, productive, and innovative work despite the crisis, and underlines the vitality of the IT and communications sector and its vital role in economic development.
In turn, project manager at Mosaic Group Bassel Sheikho said that expos like this, which have been absent for around five years, are vital in introducing IT solutions to interested parties from various sectors that need them, while marketing director at the group Hala Sherbaji said that the expo seeks to help develop the IT sector by bringing exhibitors and the public together and showcase the latest innovations in this sector.
