Provinces, SANA- The Syrian Army and Armed Forces, supported by the Russian Air Force, killed on Saturday large numbers of terrorists from the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organizations, making more progress in different areas across Syria.
A military source confirmed that the Russian Air Force, in cooperation with the Syrian Air Force, carried out 36 sorties which targeted 49 ISIS targets during the past 24 hours in the rural areas of Idleb, Hama, Lattakia, Damascus, and Aleppo provinces.
The source told SANA that the sorties resulted in destroying 11 command centers for terrorists, a workshop for manufacturing explosives, 3 artillery emplacements, 9 weapons and ammo caches, and 8 fortified sites.
The source said the sorties resulted in destroying a building used for training terrorist suicide bombers and a weapons and ammo cache in Salma area 50km north of Lattakia city.
The airstrikes also resulted in destroying 3 large trucks in Talbiseh in Homs province’s northern countryside, along with two ammo depots, a workshop for manufacturing explosives, and a command center for terrorist organizations in Marj al-Sultan in the Eastern Ghouta area in Damascus countryside, in addition to two tanks and 5 armored vehicles near Khan al-Assal in Aleppo.
Lattakia
A least 300 terrorists killed in Lattakia countryside
Hundreds of terrorists were killed and others were injured in the continued operations carried out by the army, backed by the Syrian army air force, in the northern countryside of the coastal Lattakia province.
A military source told SANA that the operations carried out by the army, backed by the popular defense groups, last night and on Saturday morning, targeted terrorists’ dens in Salam area and the mountains surrounding Jib al-Ahmar, 48 km to the north east of Lattakia City.
The source added that at least 300 terrorists were killed in the operations, in addition to destroying many of their vehicles and dens with all the arms inside them.
Field sources told SANA reporter that among the killed, terrorist Fakher Ahmed Souhioun, Mohammad Salim Souhioun, Ahmed Omar Arab, Ahmed Sino, Khaled Hamad and Khaled Fatou.
Meanwhile, the Takfiri terrorist organizations acknowledged on their pages on the social networking websites that heavy losses were inflicted upon them in the personnel and the equipment as they published tens of the names of the killed terrorists including the self-claimed military commander of the so-called “1st Costal Brigade” terrorist Khaled Aous, nicknamed “Abu al-Walid.”
Aleppo
The Syrian Arab Army’s Air Force carried out airstrikes targeting fortified sites and movements of terrorists from ISIS in the villages and towns of Qseir al-Qard, al-Buqjiye, the surroundings of al-Jabboul, al-Radwaniye, Huwaijina, Istabl hill, and Sab’een hill in the northern countryside of Aleppo province.
A military source told SANA that the airstrikes resulted in the death and injuring of terrorists and in destroying a number of vehicles, some of which were equipped with machineguns.
In Aleppo city, army units targeted terrorists’ hideouts in Salaheddin, Bani Zeid, Bustan al-Basha, Bustan al-Qasr, and al-Sakhour, leaving many terrorists dead or injured.
The source went on to say that the army units defending the Air Force Academy carried out concentrated attacks on ISIS concentrations in the area, killing and injuring many terrorists and destroying their vehicles.
Later, a military source told SANA that army units, in cooperation with local defense groups, established control over the areas of Balas, al-Zahmoul hill, al-Dabaghat, and al-Shahid hill in Aleppo’s southwestern countryside, inflicting heavy losses in personnel and equipment on terrorists in those areas.
Hama
In a series of airstrikes, the Syrian Air Force targeted ISIS positions in Oqeirbat town and the villages of Abo Khanadeq, Qasr Shawi, Qasr al-Hawm, al-Hazm and Arafa in the eastern and northeastern countryside of Hama province.
The military source confirmed in a statement to SANA that dozens of ISIS terrorists were killed or injured and their vehicles transporting weapons and ammunition were destroyed.
In the northwestern countryside, the Air Force also targeted hideouts for terrorists from the so-called “Jaish al-Fateh” in al-Ankawi and al-Ziara villages, destroying vehicles with machine guns mounted on them.
Homs
Units of the army and the armed forces, backed by the Syrian army air force, carried out concentrated airstrikes against dens and positions of the Takfiri terrorist organizations in the northern and eastern countryside of the central Homs province.
A unit of the army killed a member of terrorists and destroyed one of their stores of ammunition in Um Sharshouh village.
The source added that a number of the terrorists’ machinegun-equipped vehicles were destroyed in intensive bombardments carried out by an army unit against their positions to the north of Tal Abou al-Sanasel in the surroundings of Jabbourin.
Meanwhile, units of the army carried out precise operations against dens and positions of the terrorists in the villages and towns of Ghajar Amir, al-Ghantou and Talbisa, killing a large number of them and destroying their weapons and ammunition.
Other army units eliminated a number of terrorists and injured others in al-Hadar village and destroyed a vehicle equipped with a heavy machinegun in Khatamlo.
In the eastern countryside, the Syrian army air force destroyed machinegun-equipped vehicles belonging to the ISIS terrorists and killed a number of them in sorties carried out on Saturday morning against their dens in the surroundings of al-Shaer oil field.
The army’s air force destroyed dens and vehicles for ISIS terrorists in Jabal al-Nusrani and the area surrounding Palmyra city in Homs eastern countryside.
Damascus Countryside
Army units carried out a series of concentrated operations in the town of Nola and its farms in al-Nashabiye area of the Eastern Ghouta part of Damascus Countryside.
A military source told SANA that the operations allowed the army to advance into the town and establish control over a number of building blocks in the town, eliminating many terrorists, and destroying hideouts and fortifications, in addition to uncovering tunnels used by terrorists to move around and transport weapons and ammo.
Terrorists’ social media pages acknowledged the death of many of their members in Marj al-Sultan area in Damascus Countryside, including Mohammad Sarhan aka Jarrah, who was a “military commander” for Jabhat al-Nusra in Eastern Ghouta, and Shadi Khalaf.
Deir Ezzor
Units of the army positioned at Deir Ezzor Airport killed 18 of the ISIS terrorists over the past 24 hours.
Field sources told SANA that among the killed terrorists, a self-claimed leader from the ISIS Abu Yusuf al-Iraqi along with 15 terrorists from his group, in addition to terrorist Ahmed Abboush and terrorist Siraj Eddin Jasem al-Eiada.
The sources added that a vehicle and varied ammunition belonging to the ISIS terrorists were destroyed in the clashes in the surroundings of the airport.
Daraa
An army unit targeted terrorists’ positions in Tafas city in the northwestern countryside of the southern Daraa province, leaving a number of terrorists dead or wounded.
Another army unit killed terrorists, mostly from Jabhat al-Nusra, and destroyed their weapons and equipment in precise operations against their positions in the surroundings of Atman town at the northern entrance of Daraa city.
Later, a number of terrorists were killed and others injured in an army operation against their gathering in al-Sheikh Miskeen town. Among those injured was Nidal Hassab Bardan, leader of a terrorist group.
An explosive device went off in a car in Saida town in Daraa eastern countryside, wounding Mohammad al-Majarish, one of the most-wanted Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists in the area.
Quneitra
An army unit in cooperation with popular defense groups clashed with terrorists from Jabhat al-Nusra and Thwwar Souria Front in Khan Arnabeh and Harfa who sneaked towards a military checkpoint in the northern countryside of Quneitra.
A number of terrorists were killed and others injured in the operation.
The Syrian army’s artillery fired shells at the dens and hideouts of terrorists in the villages of Ofania, Dahret al-Kassar and Taranja, killing a number of terrorists and destroying weapons and ammunition.
