33 sorties by Russian warplanes against 32 of terrorists’ sites

Moscow, SANA- Russia’s air force carried out 33 sorties against 32 positions for terrorist organizations in Idleb, Hama, Damascus Countryside, Aleppo and Deir Ezzor provinces in Syria over the past 24 hours, according to Russian Defense Ministry.

In a statement published by Russia Today website, Spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry Igor Konashenkov affirmed that Sukhoi Su-34 warplane dropped KAB-500 bomb, destroying a 9K33 Osa short-range air defense launcher.

Two SU-25 warplanes destroyed a terrorists’ base, including 3 armored vehicles, 8 SUV cars equipped with machineguns and mortar launchers, he added.
Konashenkov noted that Russian warplanes launched an airstrike against an ISIS command center near Kassir al-Ward town in the eastern countryside of Aleppo, destroying it completely.

In Idleb countryside, Russian warplanes destroyed an underground workshop, which was used for making explosives in al-Atarib town.

A strike conducted by Su-25 and Su-34 against a fortified site in the area surrounding Khan Sheikhon destroyed 6 artillery platforms, amounts of ammunition and 3 vehicles equipped with mortar launchers.

The spokesman pointed out that the decrease in the Russian airstrikes during the past few hours is due to the intensification of Syrian airstrikes and the changing of clash lines after the Syrian Arab Army restored control over new positions.

Konashenkov mentioned that terrorists are retreating and trying to establish new positions, adding that Russia has intensified reconnaissance sorties to monitor the situation on the ground.
