Damascus, SANA – The Following-up on National Dialogue Committee on Sunday held an Iftar banquet on the occasion of appointing Wang Kejian an Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in Syria.
The event was attended by a number of Syrian ministers and parties’ members in addition to diplomatic officials from Arab and international countries.
In a statement to SANA, Ambassador Kejian said his country has supported a political solution to the crisis since its beginning as it is the only way to put an end to the crisis, serve the interests of the Syrian people and preserve security and peace in Syria and the region.
He added that Beijing supports the political solution and Geneva negotiations, with the aim of reaching an accord among all of the Syrian sides, adding that any such accord will be supported by China.
