Syrian and Cuban FMs stress on solid cooperation ties

Damascus, SANA – Cuba’s Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez renewed his country’ solidarity with Syria in the face what it is going through.

The government and people of Cuba support Syria to ward off any attempt to disrupt its independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, said Rodriguez in a message he sent to his Syrian counterpart Walid al-Moallem on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Cuban-Syrian diplomatic relations.

Minister al-Moallem, in turn, responded with a letter to Rodriguez in which he hailed the historical relations of friendship binding the two countries.

He noted that these ties have been steadily developing as they are based on solid principles, on top being maintaining national sovereignty, preventing non-interference in the internal affairs and supporting the just causes of people in the face of hegemony.

Al-Moallem renewed the will to bolster Syria’s cooperation relations with Cuba in a way that helps in consolidating the two countries’ steadfastness and achieving their mutual interests.

Cuba’s victory in putting an end to the unfair blockade imposed on it for years would enable it to bolster its achievements and move on in the development process, said al-Moallem, expressing high appreciation of Cuba’s supportive stance towards Syria against the conspiracy targeting it.
