Over 40 terrorists killed in an ambush in al-Zabadani, ISIS leaders’ hideout hit in Deir Ezzor

Provinces, SANA – The army has inflicted heavy casualties upon terrorists in stepped-up operations carried out all across the country, with dozens killed in al-Zabadani alone.

Damascus Countryside

At least 40 terrorists were killed on Saturday in an ambush carried out by an army unit and the Lebanese Resistance in al-Zabadani city to the north-west of Damascus.

A military source told SANA that the ambush left other terrorists wounded and large amounts of their weapons, ammunition and equipment destroyed.

Meanwhile, an Army unit destroyed a 150-meters-long tunnel which terrorists had been using to move around and store weapons and ammo near a military site in Harasta town in Damascus Countryside.

A military source told SANA that the unit destroyed the tunnel in a special operation, killing scores of terrorists that were hiding inside it and destroying a large amount of weapons and ammo.

Another unit destroyed three weapon and ammo caches in the farms of Harasta in the direction of the nearby town of Douma, while in the southwestern countryside, other units targeted with artillery concentrations of terrorists in the villages of Beit Jinn, Hasno, al-Khazrajiye, and al-Maqrussa, killing a number of terrorists and injuring others.

Aleppo

Syrian Arab Army units killed a number of terrorist and injured others, most of them from Jabhat al-Nusra organization, and destroyed their vehicles that were equipped with machineguns in the villages of al-Mansoura, Anjara, Khan Touman and the cities of al-Atareb and Daret Ezza in the countryside of Aleppo province.

Other army units targeted terrorists’ hideouts and movements and destroyed their vehicles, killing all those on board, in the villages of Ebtin, al-Wudeiha and al-Ameriyeh in the southern countryside of the province.

Heavy losses were inflicted upon Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists in personnel and equipment in special army operations that targeted their hideouts in Khawabi al-Assal and Khan al-Assal in the southwestern countryside.

More terrorists were killed and their vehicles were destroyed in Azaz city and the towns of Hreitan and Biyanoun towns on the international highway leading to Turkey.

Army units targeted hideouts of ISIS terrorists, killing a number of them and destroying their arms and equipment, in the vicinity of Air Force Academy in the eastern countryside, and later in the afternoon the Army’s Air Force carried out a series of airstrikes targeting concentrations and movements of ISIS in the Academy’s surrounds, killing many terrorists and destroying machinegun-equipped vehicles.

In Aleppo city, many Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists were killed and their arms and ammunition were destroyed in the Old City and the neighborhoods of al-Rashidin, Bab al-Neirab, al-Salehin, al-Sukkari, al-Jazmati Roundabout, and in the direction of al-Lairamoun, Bani Zeid, and al-Khalediyeh.

Idleb

In the neighboring Idleb province, some 13 Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists were killed in an operation carried out by an army unit in the surroundings of al-Sararif in Jisr al-Shughour area in the countryside of the northern Idleb province, according to a military source.

The source later told SANA that the AirForce carried out a series of airstrikes on concentrations of Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists in the villages of Bizeit and Jannat al-Qura in Jisr al-Shughour, killing and injuring a number of terrorists and destroying their weapons and ammo.

Meanwhile, field sources told SANA that army units targeted gatherings of terrorists from the so-called “Jaish al-Fatih” and destroyed mortar launchers and vehicles in M’artamsarin.

The Air Force also destroyed a number of terrorists’ hideouts in Abu al-Dohour, Umm Jarin, al-Majas, and Qar’ al-Ghazal. Scores of terrorists were killed and their weaponry and munitions were destroyed in the process.

Hama

In the neighboring Hama province, an army unit targeted a convoy of vehicles for Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists moving on Skeik-Atshan road near the administrative borders with Idleb province.

The Air Force destroyed a number of terrorists’ hideouts and vehicles in Atshan, al-Rahjan, al-Mafkar, and Aqrab in Hama countryside, killing many terrorists and destroying their weapons, ammo, and vehicles.

Homs

The Syrian Arab Army’s Air Force destroyed a number of vehicles used by ISIS and eliminated scores of the terrorist organizaiton’s members in a series of airstrikes targeting their hideouts of concentrations north of Sha’er mountain, Abu Tuwala well, and Marhatan in Palmyra countryside, Homs province.

A military source told SANA that airstrikes also resulted in inflicting heavy losses on ISIS terrorists in Palmyra city and north of Wadi Abyad dam, while more terrorists were killed and their weapons were destroyed in airstrikes on ISIS hideouts and movements in al-Kadim and al-Bel’as mountains at the outskirts of al-Badiye desert in the province’s countryside.

Army units, in cooperation with popular defense forces, destroyed gatherings of terrorists in al-Masek valley, Antar mountain, and north of the quarries that are located around 30km southeast of Palmyra city, resuling in the death of many terrorists and in destroying assorted weapons and ammo.

Deir Ezzor

An army unit, aided by the popular defense groups, destroyed a hideout for so -called “leaders” within ISIS in al-Mayadeen town in the countryside of the eastern Deir Ezzor province, killing 13 terrorists, some of them foreigners.

The Saudi terrorist Bandar Hamed Abdullah al-Zaydeh was identified among the dead.

Hasaka

In the northeastern Hasaka province, an army unit, aided by the national backup forces, targeted hideouts of ISIS
terrorists in the southeastern side of Ghweiran neighborhood in Hasaka city, according to field sources.

Many of the terrorists were killed and an arms and ammunition depot was destroyed in the operations, said the sources, noting that some terrorists managed to flee towards al-Villat al-Homr neighborhood.

In the same context, the army units in al-Villat al-Homr killed at least 15 terrorists, destroyed their arms and ammunition and continued hunting down fleeing terrorists in the neighborhood.

They also continued combing operations to dismantle explosive devices planted by ISIS terrorists in the neighborhood.

Lattakia

An army unit foiled a terrorist group’s attempt to infiltrate Dourin village in the northern countryside of the western Lattakia province.

Sweida

An army unit thwarted ISIS terrorists’ attempt to infiltrate Bouthina hill around 35km northeast of Sweida city, killing and injuring many of the assailants in the process.

Another unit targeted with concentrated fire hideouts and movements of Jabhat al-Nusra and other terrorists organizations in the surroundings of Sheikh Hussein hill south of al-Tha’ala Airport, inflicting heavy losses upon them.

Military engineering units in cooperation with local defense groups dismantled 3 explosive devices planted by terrorists between the villages of Waqam and aal-Kharsa in al-Lujat area in Sweida north-western countryside.

A source at the governorate told SANA that the devices weighted 11 to 15 kg each and were set to be remotely detonated.

Meanwhile, the military engineering units also dismantled two explosive devices each weighting 15 kg in Sweida’s north-eastern countryside.
