Damascus, SANA Damascus University, in cooperation with its branch of the National Union of Syrian Students, honored on Wednesday the winners who took part in the 7th Fazaa International Athletics Competition for people with special needs that was held in Dubai last February.
Syria, out of 48 countries, got the second and third places in the competitions, which brought together 490 Athletes.
The Syrian team who competed in the competitions included Fatima al-Hassan, Alaa Abdul-Salam and Abdul-Hakim al-Kobar.
In a statement to SANA, Abdul-Hakim al-Kobar, who is an English Literature student, said determination, will and continued training were the reasons that earned him victory.
Student Fatimal al-Hassan, who won the 2nd position, vowed to work and practice harder to realize her “dream” of winning the first place at the championship.
For his part, Alaa Abdel-Salam, who is a Law student, noted in his statement to SANA that he participated in Dubai, Ein and Sharjah championships, expressing his aspiration to take part in international championships.
