Daraa, SANA – The armed terrorist groups on Monday opened fire and fired mortar shells on teams affiliated to Daraa Electricity Company in Daraa while they were fixing damage done to a power plant from an earlier attack in al-Nou’aima area.
Director-General of Daraa Electricity Company Eng. Nasser al-Khaled said the teams that headed to the area to assess the damage came under heavy fire and mortar shells launched by terrorists.
He said the terrorists targeted the plant once again on Monday, stressing that the maintenance teams will resume their works once the situation allows them to.
He anticipated that electricity will be restored to the city in the next couple of days.
