Hasaka Governor inspects damage caused by Tuesday’s terrorist bombings

Hasaka, SANA – Hasaka Governor Mohammad Za’al al-Ali on Wednesday visited the sites where terrorist bombings took place earlier on Tuesday, and called for compensating the affected citizens and repairing the damaged buildings.

The attacks in question took place around 7 PM, when two suicide bombers detonated two car bombs near Sinalco roundabout and the Pediatric Hospital in Hasaka city, claiming the lives of one civilian and injuring 13, 5 of them children, in addition to causing material damage to public and private property.

The Governor stressed that the terrorist attacks will never undermine the steadfastness of the locals and their adherence to national unity and support to their army, highlighting the importance of cooperation with the army and armed forces to fight terrorists and restore security and stability to the province.

On a relevant note, head of the Hasaka branch of Euphrates University’s Dr. Najm al-Hamidi told SANA that the damage caused to the branch’s literature and pedagogy faculties’ buildings due to the terrorist attacks is estimated at SYP 2.5 million, adding that the exams that were scheduled for Wednesday will be postponed one hour until cleaning and repairs are done.

In turn, director of Hasaka Health Department Mohammad Rashad Khalaf said that a committee has been formed to inspect damage caused by the terrorist attacks to the Pediatric Hospital and its equipment, noting that the incubators department was most affected.
