Damascus, SANA- General Authority for Palestine Arab Refugees (GAPAR) and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), Supported by the Syrian government and the Higher Relief Committee, distributed on Wednesday food and health baskets to Yarmouk Camp displaced residents in other Damascus countryside towns.
GAPAR Director Ali Mustafa told SANA the aid, which included 1200 food baskets and 3000 bread bags in addition to vegetables, eggs and others, was distributed on the displaced residing in Yalda, Babbila and Beit Sahem towns in Damascus Countryside Province.
He added that the food baskets that have been distributed since December have reached 83482, while the number of health baskets rose to 11718.
Thousands of residents fled the neighborhood after terrorists from the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) entered it last April and committed acts of killing and abduction against the civilians there.
The neighborhood is home to Syrian citizens and a majority of Palestinians displaced from their Israeli-occupied land, and has been besieged by terrorist groups since 2012.
