Moscow, SANA-Russia reiterated on Thursday its support to the efforts of the UN Special envoy to Syria Staffan de Mistura to solve the crisis in Syria in light of outcomes of the two meetings held in Moscow in January and April, 2015.
“A telephone call was made today between Deputy Foreign Minister Michael Bogdanov and de Mistura on the consultations being held in Geneva and Mistura’s separate contacts with representatives of the Syrian government and the Syrian opposition groups,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The statement added that the contacts will also include a number of “influential countries”, aiming at reaching a settlement to the crisis in Syria according to Geneva communiqué of June, 2012.
