Damascus, SANA- With both Arab and international participation, the 3rd Syria International Exhibition for Agricultural Mechanization, Livestock, and Agricultural Production Supplies, “Agro Syria,” commenced Wednesday evening at the Damascus Fairgrounds in the capital city.
Minister of Agriculture, Amjad Badr stated to reporters that the state encourages agricultural investments and will provide all necessary support to investors. He noted that the Ministry of Agriculture is currently addressing the challenges and difficulties facing the agricultural sector through a scientific and technical approach to advance the sector.
Mohammad Hamza, Director of the Exhibitions Establishment, highlighted the revival of Syrian exhibitions, pointing out that “Agro Syria” is the first exhibition held under the “new Syria” era. He considered the significant participation from local and international companies as a sign of the recovery of the Syrian economy and the beginning of efforts to boost Syrian exports abroad.
Khaleef Mashhadani, Director of Mashhadani International Exhibitions and Conferences Group, explained that this year the exhibition has attracted 120 local, Arab, and international companies, representing top firms specializing in agricultural mechanization, livestock, production supplies, fertilizers, seeds, modern irrigation systems, veterinary medicines, and advanced agricultural equipment.
Mashhadani added that “Agro Syria” serves as a strategic platform for knowledge and trade exchange, an ideal opportunity to strike commercial deals, and expand investment horizons. It is also a key meeting point for decision-makers, producers, farmers, and those interested in the agricultural sector in Syria and beyond.
The exhibition is held under the patronage of the Ministry of Agriculture, in collaboration with the Syrian Agricultural Chambers Federation, the Veterinary Doctors Syndicate in Syria, and the ACSAD organization.
