Higher Education Minister, delegation from Syrian community in US discuss situation of Syrian universities

Damascus, SANA- Higher Education and Scientific Research Minister, Dr. Abdel Moneim Abdel Hafez met Tuesday a delegation from the Syrian community in the US.

The two sides discussed the educational situation of Syrian universities after liberation, the reality of the deteriorating infrastructure of universities including the shortage of educational cadres, devices and equipment.

“We received many calls from various universities and academics from regional countries, such as Turkey, and they stressed readiness to cooperate at the scientific level and presented several proposals and suggestions, such like exchanging visits and receiving students to study in them,” Minister Abdel Hafez said in a statement to SANA.

The Minister added that several meetings have been held with a number of delegations, and such meetings will continue in order to develop the educational process at the universities, referring to the possibility of holding joint workshops to improve the reality of universities.
