Minister of Agriculture, Sudanese counterpart visit several research projects in Hama

Hama-SANA-The Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Eng. Mohamed Hassan Qatana, and Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Sudan, Dr. Abu Bakr Omar al-Bushra, visited the model village in Qatra al-Rayhan and the Buffalo Research and Agricultural Research Centers in the al-Ghab area in the western countryside of Hama.

In a statement to reporters, Minister Qatana indicated that the Ministry of Agriculture launched in 2022 the model village project in Qatra Al-Rayhan as a guide and experience for rural development in partnership with the local community.

Qatana pointed out that the village project was a model of joint cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture, the local community and banks, which have so far granted SYP 8 billion as short- and medium-term loans to establish a number of projects that have an economic and development return on the village and its people.

Minister Qatana stressed that the visit of the Sudanese Minister of Agriculture and Forestry comes within the framework of strengthening joint cooperation between Syria and Sudan, especially the exchange of agricultural products.

For his part, al-Bushra stressed the importance of his visit to these centers to benefit from the expertise and research experiments conducted by researchers and experts in research centers and bodies in Syria, transfer and apply their results in Sudan and exchange experiences between the two sides to produce high-quality and productive agricultural samples that are resistant to climate change, drought and pests.
