Syria, Iraq discuss enhancing bilateral investment cooperation

Damascus-SANA- Prime Minister Hussein Arnous discussed Tuesday with the Chairman of the National Investment Commission in Iraq Haider Makiya the mechanisms for developing economic ties between the two countries and ways to open new horizons to enhance investment cooperation in a number of vital fields.

Arnous stressed the importance of activating the role of the business sectors in both Syria and Iraq and providing them with the necessary facilitations to establish joint investment projects.

Premier Arnous noted to the necessity of enhancing cooperation between the investment commissions in the two countries and reviewing the available investment opportunities and building on them to achieve economic partnerships that contribute to the economic development of the two countries.

Makiya expressed his country’s readiness to enhance bilateral cooperation in a number of important sectors, based on the fraternal and historical relations.
