Golan Citizens commemorate Martyr’s Day: determined and loyal to their homeland

Occupied Syrian Golan, SANA- Citizens of the occupied Syrian Golan commemorated on Monday the Martyrs’ Day at the squares of two towns of Baqaata and Majdal Shams in honor of their sacrifices for the sake of the homeland and loyalty for their pure blood and their method in confronting the occupation and resisting it with all its forms.

Participants began the event with laying wreaths on the martyrs’ memorial, then reading verses of Quran for the pure souls of the martyrs. They raised the national flag and delivered a speech during which they reaffirmed the Golan’s Arab Syrian identity and belonging to the homeland, and following the path that the martyrs traced with their blood.

The Golan citizens stressed that the path of martyrdom is one of the most sacred values ​​they inherited, adding that victory is achieved through sacrifices alone, and the cpnvoy of martyrs in Golan began since its occupation 57 years ago.

In a statement to SANA reporter, Hassan Fakhr al-Din said that the values ​​of the martyrdom that we inherited by “our fathers and grandfathers are still adopted through generations in sacrifice and defense of the homeland.”

Syria celebrates the Martyrs’ Day every year on May 6th in commemoration of those who were executed by the Ottomans in 1916.
