New York, SANA-The United Nations affirmed that its inability to respond to the basic needs of the Palestinians in the afflicted northern Gaza Strip is due to the obstacles imposed by the Israeli occupation to the delivery of humanitarian aid.
“Our colleagues in the humanitarian field told us that between January 1 and 10, only three out of 21 shipments of humanitarian aid, including food, medicine, water and other vital goods, could be delivered to northern Gaza Valley”, Wafa News Agency quoted the Spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, Stephane Dujarric as saying.
Dujarric added that the UN’s ability to respond to the significant needs in the northern part of Gaza is hampered by the repeated refusal of aid entry and the lack of coordination by the Israeli authorities for safe access.”
“every day that we are unable to provide aid results in the loss of lives and the suffering of thousands of people still in northern Gaza”, Dujarric stressed.
The humanitarian aid that the Israeli occupation refused to bring into the northern Gaza Strip includes several missions to bring in medical equipment and fuel for water and sanitation facilities.
In turn, the Palestinian Prime Minister called for the necessity of immediately stopping the occupation’s aggression against the Palestinian people in Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and working to bring in relief, medical and fuel aid through all crossings leading to the Gaza Strip, describing what is happening there as a Zionist crime of genocide, most of whose victims are Palestinian children and women.
