UNICEF calls for protecting Palestinian children in Gaza Strip

New York, SANA- Executive Director of UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Catherine Russell, has called for protecting and supporting Palestinian children in the Gaza Strip in accordance with international humanitarian law.

Russell noted that the intermittent opening of Gaza crossings to shipments of humanitarian aid is insufficient to meet the increasing needs.

In a statement reported by Wafa News Agency, Russell shed light on the flagrant violations committed by Israeli occupation forces against Palestinian children during the ongoing aggression on the Gaza Strip since October 7th.

She went on saying that what she saw and heard in Gaza was heartbreaking as there is no safe place for about million children.

The ongoing Israeli aggression against Gaza has claimed the lives of 11,320 people, including 4,650 children and 3,145 women, in an infinite toll.
