President al-Assad: Major corporations are leading politics and making decisions in the U.S. and Europe

Damascus, SANA- President Bashar al-Assad said on Wednesday that the role of World Trade Unions is directly linked to the concept of justice and making efforts to achieve this purpose, and based on this concept, the relationship between Syria and “World Federation of Trade Unions”  is old and “set off from the conflict between capitalism and the labor forces.”

President al-Assad added in a meeting with Mr. Pambis Kyritsis, Secretary General of World Federation of Trade Unions ( WFTU) that the major companies are leading politics and making decisions in the U.S. and Europe, and they create conflicts and wars to achieve their economic and financial interests, and “what is going on today in the occupied Palestinian territories is, in part, a reflection of this brutal reality that accepts committing massacres and killing innocent people simply because they stick to their rights and defend them.”

“We have many battles to carry on, in which the political issue is inseparable from the economic, ideological and social ones,” the President added.

For his part,  Kyritsis indicated that his visit to the country expresses solidarity with Syria and its endeavors towards  stability and reconstruction, stressing that “World Federation of Trade Unions” supports Syrian efforts in the field of development away from any external interference.

He pointed out that the World Trade unions stand with the Palestinian issue today more than ever before and are working to mobilize global public opinion in favor of the justice of this issue.
