Syria participates in session of Arab Parliament in Cairo

Cairo, SANA- A Syrian delegation from the People’s Assembly, participated in the Arab Parliament which held its plenary session under the title Solidarity with Gaza, at the headquarters of League of Arab States in Cairo.

During the session, the Parliament affirmed its complete solidarity with the Palestinian people, their struggle to restore their lands, return the refugees and establishment an independent Palestinian state and Jerusalem as its capital.

Parliament Speaker Adel Al-Asoumi said in a speech “the Israeli occupation is destroying the infrastructure in Palestine and committing war crimes that reflect its ignorance to the international law.”.

He stressed that Palestine will remain the first Arab cause, appreciating the Arab people to brotherly Palestinian people who fighting a battle of existence against the brutal enemy.

The Palestine Committee’s report was presented throughout the session, which called on friendly parliaments to stand by the Palestinian people and condemn the dangerous escalation of the Israeli occupation against the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem, where it is waging a comprehensive war of extermination.

The report called for opening humanitarian crossings via United Nations and UNRWA, warning also against calls to displace the population of Gaza Strip in an attempt to empty it of its people, which is considered a repetition of the Nakba scenario, which is not permissible.

A member at the Parliament Ghada Ibrahim told SANA reporter in Cairo “We presented a letter on behalf of Syrian people that we stand in solidarity with brotherly people in Palestine and Gaza who carried out heroic deeds , adding that the Palestinian people are suffering from the siege, starvation and oppression, which requires Arab action, in order to support them .
