Damascus, SANA- “Let us run for BASMA”, a charity marathon was launched on Friday from Damascus-based Sheraton Hotel in support of children with cancer.
The marathon is organized by BASMA Association “Support Children with Cancer”.
The participants crossed four kilometers, setting off from Sheraton hotel towards Beirut road.
After the marathon is completed, the participants will join in an artistic concert and entertainment activities that are to be held at Sheraton.
The marathon aims to support “Basma” programs and highlight that helping children with cancer is everyone’s responsibility, said Suhair Boulad, chirman of the association’s board of directors.
Boulad added that the marathon contributes to strengthening community interaction with the issue of children with cancer and supporting them financially and morally.
“Basma” Association is a voluntary non-governmental organization founded in 2006 with the aim of improving the medical services provided to children with cancer and providing them and their families psychological, moral and material support during treatment.
