Syria, Egypt discuss dangers of religious extremism

Cairo, SANA- Minister of Awqaf ,Dr. Mohammad Abdul-Sattar al-Sayyed and his Egyptian counterpart, Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar Gomaa discussed raising awareness of youths of dangers of extremist ideology ,especially through modern technologies, in addition to the necessary steps to enhance cooperation between the two ministries.

During the meeting held in Cairo, the two sides discussed bolstering cooperation between the two religious institutions in Syria and Egypt and exchanging experiences, especially in the field of developing religious discourse, Islamic education, and interpretation of Holy Qur’an.

They also discussed the role of endowments ministries(Awqaf) in the Arab world and underscored the necessity of cooperation and coordination among them.
