Tokyo, SANA- Japanese cultural institution launched in cooperation with Embassy of the Syrian Arab Republic in Tokyo, a platform representing virtual trip to Syria for its visitors.
The Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy in Tokyo, Muhammad Naguib Elji, told SANA that the purpose of launching virtual trip is to enhance cultural exchange between the two countries, representing the first stage of cooperation project with the institution , to be followed by subsequent steps.
He added that the step is important and considered part of the embassy’s action plan to acquaint the Japanese to Syrian culture, noting that there are many examples of the influence of Syrian civilization in Japan, such as brocade (damask) , mosaics and the musical instrument.
The platform posted in English and Japanese languages, and presented many cultural topics, the most important of which was an explanation of Syria’s location and climate.
It provided information about Damascus city and its archaeological sites, and get acquaint the Japanese to the archaeological sites registered on the World Heritage List
In the music domain, the platform focused on the artistic aspect represented by music and singing.
The trip introduced the Japanese to the Syrian people and described them as friendly people, despite the difficulties that people are suffering from as a result of Western economic measures, they still adhere to customs and traditions.
The platform highlighted delicious Syrian cooking and sweets, and showed several examples of them.
It also provided an explanation of some traditional industries, such as Wood inlay craft and manufacture of Aleppo soap.
