Syrian, Iraqi transport ministers discuss cooperation on land transport

Damascus, SANA- Minister of Transport, Eng. Zuhair Khuzaym and his Iraqi counterpart, Razzaq Al-Saadawi, discussed various aspects of transport between Syria and Iraq.

During the meeting, both ministers stressed the intensification of meetings of technical teams to overcome the difficulties facing the work of trucks, transit and land transport lines, in a way that facilitates the work procedures of drivers and freight.

During their chairing of the meeting of the General Assembly of the Iraqi-Syrian Land Transport Company at Dama Rose Hotel in Damascus, the two ministers discussed ways to develop the company’s mechanisms, technical status of the trucks.

They stressed the need for enhancing transport relations for the integration of the economy, trade and tourism exchange, passenger traffic, especially road and railways, and the increase of flights.

The discussions also dealt with international transport routes and investment of the geographical location of the two countries and the work of seaports to serve the interest of the two brotherly peoples.
