Syrian-Iranian talks to boost cooperation in information technology

Tehran, SANA- Minister of Communications and Technology, Iyad al-Khatib, held several meetings with Iranian sides working in the field of communications and information technology to discuss ways of joint cooperation between the two countries, following the outcomes of meetings between the presidents of Syria and Iran during Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi’s visit to Damascus on the 3rd and 4th of last May.

Minister Al-Khatib visited the Iranian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and the Information Technology Organization responsible for communications infrastructure, as representatives of 17 companies operating in the telecommunications sector in Iran gave a presentation on their work in the field of information technology, cybersecurity, banking systems, cloud computing, renewable energy, and electronic applications of various types and services.

Al-Khateb also visited the electronic services center of the Iranian government carrier, and he was briefed on its work, management method, and the services it provides.
Minister of Communications stressed the importance of cooperation with the Iranian side in the field of information technology, pointing to the necessity of exchanging experiences between the two countries to achieve maximum benefit from this cooperation.

He thanked the Islamic Republic of Iran for standing by Syria in various difficult circumstances that both countries went through.
