Moscow, SANA- Russia stressed Tuesday its support for the Syrian decision on authorizing the UN and its specialized agencies to use Bab al-Hawa crossing for extra six months, in full cooperation and coordination with Syria, for delivering the aid to the needy civilians residing in the northwest of the country, as of July 13th.
The Russian Foreign Ministry added that the decision involved the need for the UN agencies and staff not to communicate with the terrorist organizations controlling Edleb, as well as allowing the International Committee Of The Red Cross (ICRC) and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC), whose offices were looted and their cadres were enforced to leave their work, to supervise facilitating the operations and distributing the aid in the terrorist –controlled areas.
The ministry made it clear that the US and its allies hindered the approval of the Russian draft resolution submitted to the Security Council under false pretexts represented by the insufficient time, the issue that confirms that they don’t care about the humanitarian aid for the needy Syrian civilians.
Last Thursday, Syria granted the UN and its agencies permission to use Bab al-Hawa crossing to deliver humanitarian aid to civilians in need in northwestern Syria, in full cooperation and coordination with it for six months, after the Security Council failed during its session last Tuesday to extend the Resolution No. 2672. Russia also vetoed a Western draft resolution that violates Syrian sovereignty under the pretext of cross-border aid delivery.
