Champions from Daraa, Quneitra, Damascus countryside, Aleppo, Hama, Tartous, Damascus, Homs and Lattakia won gold, silver and bronze medals in Berlin competitions in swimming, athletics, gymnastics, bocce, weightlifting, judo and cycling.
Participation and competition, with insistence, determination and ambition, remain more valuable than gold.
