Damascus, SANA- Artist Syndicate in Syria mourned the death of renowned director Hisham Sharbatji at age of 75.
Sharbatji is considered one of the most influential directors in the course of the Syrian drama, especially during the last twenty-five years, and his presence shaped a qualitative renaissance in its history, and he played a prominent role in reaching what it is gained now through the various works that he directed, and they obtained wide fame locally and in the Arab world.
Born in the city of Damascus in 1948, he was educated in its schools, and obtained a bachelor’s degree from the Academy of Arts (Higher Institute for Dramatic Arts) in Cairo in 1972, after which he traveled to Germany to complete his studies.
