Damascus, SANA- Minister of Communications and Technology, Iyad al-Khatib, discussed on Thursday with Iran’s Minister of Information and Communications Technology Issa Zarepour, and the accompanying delegation, ways and prospects for enhancing and developing cooperation between the two countries in the field of communications and information technology.
Al-Khatib stressed the importance of cooperation between the two friendly countries and benefiting from Iranian experiences and expertise in improving communication services in Syria and completing projects to which the unilateral coercive economic measures hinder, especially as Iran has achieved great development in the field of communications, information technology and space technologies.
In turn, the Iranian minister reaffirmed that his country was and will remain by Syria’s side in all fields to confront all the problems that stand in the way of its steadfastness and development.
Zarepour pointed out his country’s permanent readiness to support Syria and its people in the stage of reconstruction in terms of securing communications and technology requirements in order to provide the best services, develop the communications network and achieve further cooperation in the field of space by taking advantage of the high resolution of images taken by Iranian satellites and the information provided by these images that are useful in agriculture, infrastructure construction, and others fields.
