Dentistry faculty at Damascus University obtains gold medal at Moscow Archimedes

Damascus, SANA- Faculty of Dental Medicine at Damascus University won a gold medal at Moscow international Salon of inventions and innovation technologies “Archimedes” which was held from 28-29 March.

Professor Dr. Jehad Abo Nassar and researcher Dr. Alaa al-Debs obtained the medal for their invention of the Spinal dental implant.

Abo Nassar told SANA reporter that the invention includes manufacturing local spinal implants in Syria with new and particular design m noting that the implants are made of zirconia with spines fixed in the bone and can be implanted immediately after tooth extraction.

Abo Nassar pointed out the dentistry faculty’s interest to encourage the students inventors , teach the methods of inventing by holding numerous training courses and successive workshops and how to apply inventions on the ground.
