Al-Ghobash, UNICEF discuss ways to support the earthquake-affected people

Damascus, SANA- Health Minister Dr. Hassan al-Ghobash, discussed on Thursday with the Executive Director of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Catherine Russell and her accompanying delegation ways of cooperation in the medical field, especially providing the necessary support to the earthquake-affected people.

Al-Ghobash noted to the efforts made by the organization regarding the earthquake disaster, as it was supporter of the health sector in all circumstances.

Al-Ghobash pointed out to the importance of following up on the conditions and vaccination programs for children who live in shelters and providing them with all services.

In turn, Russell noted that the organization has developed a 3-month earthquake response plan to help about 3 million children and women to ensure that children’s immunity is raised and that diseases do not spread.

Russell stressed that UNICEF will continue to work to achieve good food coverage, especially for children in the earthquake-affected provinces.
