Slovak parliamentarian:  Continued imposition of Western sanctions on Syria inhumane act

Prague, SANA- The continued imposition of unilateral Western sanctions on Syria in the circumstances of the devastating earthquake that struck the country is an inhumane act that harms innocent people, Slovak Member of the Parliament, Deputy Head of the Social Democratic Party, Dr. Luboš Blaha affirmed.

In a statement to SANA’s correspondent in Prague on Wednesday, Blaha said that harming Syria through the continuation of these sanctions, despite the earthquake, confirms the extent of the West’s disregard for human rights and international laws and its racist view towards countries that are outside its hegemony.

Blaha praised the initiative of the Slovak citizens who joined the campaign to provide humanitarian aid to Syria, stressing that this represents the greatest evidence that the majority of European citizens oppose sanctions and refuse to target Syria.
